I'm sorry, I misunderstood what you said.
But I think you could have very good opportunity, so that you are a good English speaker. I envy you-!
I had worked in a trading company before I got married, and used English everyday at that time, but I had never get a chance to go abroad on business, though I had a chance to meet some costomers from other countries.
I study English, because I want to work in a trading company again some years later.

Hello 13, I'm not a interpriter.

This has a story and may be some body envy me.

It was year end of several years before. Actuary 27th of December. I received unexpected call from director who seldum talk with. He said "Do you have a passport?" I said "Yes". "Is it valid?" "Valid till September". After 10 minuite I was selected member of special mission to Europe. He just wanted person who have a valid pass port and can speak english. I flew to Amsterdam on 6th of Jan. and staied there approx. two month. There are year end holidays, so I could pripair something, but if not, it was only few days to pripair for business trip.

I staied Amsterdam for two month, but weekend is day off, so I could travelled to Belgium and Germany and some part of Dutch.

Yes, it's very hard to study English in Japan. I don't have English speaking friends, enough time to study....but luckily I can see CNN on TV while my 2nd boy sleeping, so I sometimes listen it as much time as I can. (I cannot watch because I have to do some things in his sleeping time.)
Karl, you are an interpreter? Wow! I wanted to be an interpreter when I was a child, but the dream was broken in junior high school days, because I was bad at English.
I went to a junior collage of foreign languages after high school, but I couldn't be a good English speaker.
As for this board information system, I don't have any information yet. And I don't know well about this...

Hello everybody!

It is only my experience but this board system is not stabilized. Even if I checked inform column for new message arrival, I can get arrival message only few times, therefore I'm checking this board every morning. How are you doing to check new message Marsy?

Yes, learning english may be difficult. But school english and actual english may be different. It is shamed matter, but if when I facing graduate celemony of high school, teacher called all member of class except several person. And said, "Strudents who are not called may not attend graduate celemony because they are failed". I was one of them. And I have to took english exam. However, after graduate high school, I was assigned to some countriy, and also I had chence to Europian country as nterpreter. My english teacher at high school days may be surprised if he know this.

Learning a conversational English seems hard in Japan....people usually spend lots of money and go to English school to be able to speak better. I went to NOVA for 6 months prior to my travel to the U.S., but now I think it wasn't a much help back then. I've learned so much more through my struggle in speaking English by living in America. I love our circle. It's great to be able to communicate in English with people living in Japan.

Hi Marsy, I thought electricity cost in U.S. is not high. But if you are paying $90=10440Yen, I have to change my image.

Happily, my new contract is 1/3 cose of normal rate during nights, so we can use air conditionner during hot nights.
(However, day time cost is 1.5 time of normal rate)

Hello. I'm a housewife have 2 kids, and came here for the first time today.
I want to study English again for my future, but don't know the best way of studying for me. I'm so busy because of caring kids, and it's difficult to keep concentration for study.

Karl, i know electricity bill is a pain especially during summer. I'm paying about $90 a month for electricity bill during summer. I try not to turn on A/C at night to cut down a electricity bill a little, but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference in my bill. I should eat somehting that cools down my body heat in summer....like "tokoroten"??

Today, gas company cut gus supply to my house. Not because I didn't pay gas fee. We cahnged all heating system to electricity. My image of electricity is expensive. Of cource, electricity company providing to us special price to use electricity only, but I'm afraid electricity bill of next month.

Karl, wow, your schedule seems pretty stuffed!! You have at least one thing to do on each day from Mon-Thr. It's very impressive that you help cleaning the house on your spare time :-) I am going to be living in a dust till the date I move out from this apartment....cough! cough!
Gee...to be honest with you Karl, I'm not really sure if my dad can be my navigator during move. He will probably be tired and sleeping in a passenger seat a whole time because of jetlag. I will check the map and plan everything ahead before take off to a road. So much to think about!!!
